ForestCam back online

 Just a note to let you know the ForestCam is back online, and there are some nice bucks frequenting the area. We are working on the FringeCam and hope to have it on in the next couple of weeks.  Later, bc

 Hello Everyone,

 

Here we are a few short weeks away from the 2012 Underwear Affair. Once again our little team of 7 is out to raise as much money and awareness to Cancers Downthereness as we can.

Last year we raise $18000 thanks to all of you.  We know it was a great feat but we would certainly like to give it another try this year.

We are hosting a steak night Saturday April 28th at Mulberry’s Family Restaurant located at 124- 3rd Ave N. Drinks are at 6:00 PM and dinner is at 7:00 PM. The menu consists of Steak or Chicken Fingers, Baked Potato, Caesar Salad, Garlic Toast, Pasta Salad and Sautéed Mushrooms and Onions. The price for tickets is again $20 per person. Children are allowed this year and a meal of Chicken Fingers and French Fries is available for $5 . There will be drink specials, 50/50 draws, prizes and great fun. Come one, come all and help us to raise money to fight Cancers Below the Waist.

You can buy tickets from anyone on the team or at Westcan Bulk Transport. We certainly look forward to seeing you on Saturday April 28, 2012 at Mulberry’s.

Moose Jerky Today !

 

I start with an American Harvest standard Terryaki jerky mix.

 

I add about a 1/2 cup of warm water and mix the cure and seasoings from the package together.

Then I add ...

about a 1/3 cup of Kethup,

a 1/3 cup of Thai Chili sauce,

3 TBsp brown sugar,

2 TBsp of molasses. 

1/4 tsp of ground black pepper

 

(Optional 1 tsp of crushed dry red pepper flakes, and 1 tsp of Liquid Smoke)

 

 

Mix well.

 

Marinate moose strips for an hour or two, then place on dehydrator racks and dry until you reach desired texture.

 

Sweet n Hot !!

It got a good feed of hay, then laid down and licked the salt block for a while. When the birds started showing up at sunrise the moose got P'd off, got up, chased the birds off a couple times then sauntered off toward the lake. Probably be back for more grub soon! LOL

Duke @ son Wyatt looking for a monster on Wyatt's 1st Whitetail hunt, decided on this nice 4x at the Oasis blind, after considering their available hunting time left in the season!  Man that is GOOD Salami Duke!
